This Kona Classic brings some of the finer things to light. The Fire Mountain is running a smooth-shifting 8-speed drivetrain to keep things manageable across varying terrain and bombproof mechanical disc brakes to stop on a dime. With 100mm of suspension and sturdy tires aboard wider 27mm rims, the Fire Mountain helps build confidence off-road.

Sizing

Available for smaller riders in a 26” wheeled XS version, a 27.5” wheel for size S, and 29” wheel for sizes M-XL. We put the saddle in the lowest position and if we can get some toes on the ground, then we're close to the right size. It depends on variables like confidence levels, standover height, and reach to the bars. 

7-8yrs old -  26" wheel XS size works well
8-10 Yrs.    - Small size with 27.5" wheels
9yrs +.       - Medium or larger with 29" wheels

It's best to sit on the bike and try it in store, but these are some general guidelines we work with. Along with that, we offer free initial setup, including a super-short stem to reduce reach to the bars, bar rotation, lever & control placement plus cutting down the bars to an appropriate length foor kids with narrow shoulders. All this can make a bike fit more ideal & get them a bike that lasts longer for them.
