A riser block is used to lift your front wheel once your bike is in the fluid or magnetic trainer, thus leveling out your bike. The two-way design allows both a traditional road bike tire and a fatter/wider mountain bike tire to be raised. Specially designed these wheelstands are grooved for extra stability.
