Gabe has twenty five years of industry experience with time spent at Supergo Bike Shops in California, Specialized headquarters in California, Taiwan, and Australia, and some time with Cannondale in Sydney. While traveling the world doing dealer development for hundreds of bike shops, he has experienced some of the best and worst of bicycle retail. Armed with a list of best practices, great ideas, and best intentions, he opened this shop with an eye on delivering the best experience with buying a bike and long term rider support. He’s a long time mountain biker, leads a weekly nightride at Lysterfield, stays fit in between mountain bike rides by riding his road bike on Beach road.
Scott is the store manager at Urban Pedaler. He has a background in competitive running and Ironman but has now joined the cycling world full time. If he’s not out riding, he’s probably out running 15k before breakfast with his wife (who runs and swims competitively) and with his young daughter in a jogger enjoying the sunrise. With his sales and sales management experience and his passion for endurance sports, he’ll be able to help us all with pointers on nutrition and other aspects of our goals.
Adam is our service department manager and comes from a history of BMX and more recently road cycling. He’s been working himself up through the ranks of a few local bike shops in the last 10 years and is a familiar face to those who might have visited the now-closed Bentleigh Bikes. A car enthusiast and a new father, he keeps himself busy.
Caitlin’s background is in physiotherapy and she only recently took up road cycling. She can be seen in the store on the weekends working part time, but only after hitting the race circuits in & around Melbourne. A regular A-Grade competitor, she takes her riding pretty seriously, but also can be seen on the Saturday morning shop ride lending a helping hand to some beginners as well. Caitlin also is a Guru Certified Bike Fitter and conducts Guru bike sizing and bike fitting.
Supporting and Involvement with Local Business Community
As a purveyor of high quality products and services, we strive to earn the loyalty of local riders with one of the best retail experiences one could expect. We pride ourselves on presentation, the brands we choose to support, the level of service we offer and our collective expertise in all areas of cycling. In an internet age of online shopping, it’s a highly competitive arena we choose to be in, but with the support of the local community who hopefully appreciate what we offer, we will be around for decades to come. We aim to be an important part of the bayside fabric and support as many local businesses and schools as possible.
Our growing list of community involvement can be viewed here.
